How to Upgrade from a Class B to C1 at Sensei College
Step 1: Verify your eligibility
- You must hold a valid Class B license (no minimum years required for C1 upgrade, unlike PSV)
- Your license must be current (not expired)
- You must be at least 18 years old
Step 2: Visit Sensei’s campus (Nakuru or Kitengela)
- Bring your national ID, Class B license, and passport photos
- Discuss your goals with the enrolment team – they will recommend the right program
Step 3: Begin C1 theory training
- Topics include: weight distribution, loading regulations, vehicle inspection, commercial vehicle traffic laws, and logbook management
Step 4: Practical training on light trucks
- Sensei uses Isuzu NPR, Toyota Dyna, and similar light commercial vehicles for C1 training
- Sessions cover: reversing with load, hill starts in loaded trucks, road junctions
Step 5: NTSA test preparation and mock test
Sensei College offers tests that simulate the NTSA test to prepare you well for the test
Step 6: Sit the NTSA test and receive C1 endorsement on your license
