Choosing the right skills training college is a big decision and we want to make it as easy as possible for you. Below are answers to the questions we get asked most often by prospective students, parents and employers. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here, our friendly admissions team is always a call or WhatsApp away on 0717 951 055 (Kitengela) or 0729 891 301 (Nakuru). We’re here to help you take that first step toward a better future.
The minimum requirement for most of our courses is a valid National ID. You do not need a specific KCSE grade or academic certificate to enroll. Sensei is a skills college, we focus on practical ability, not academic performance. Some specialised courses (such as Trailer Driving or Construction Plant Electronics) may require a driving licence or a prior Sensei certificate, but these details are clearly listed for each course.
We have intakes running every month of the year, from January to December. Each intake begins during the first week of the month (4th–8th). There is no lengthy application process, simply walk in on the intake dates with 2 photocopies of your National ID and 4 passport photos, and you will be admitted on the spot. You can also apply online through our website here: Apply Now.
We have two campuses. Our Nakuru Campus is located at Barnabas Centre, near Pipeline on the Nakuru–Nairobi Road — from Nakuru Town, board a Highway Sacco matatu at the Flyover and alight at Barnabas, then take a motorbike to Sensei. Our Kitengela (Nairobi) Campus is located in Milimani Estate, Kitengela — from Nairobi, take a Kitengela bus from Easy Coach Stage, alight at Kitengela Stage, and take a motorbike to the college.
Yes, boarding is available at both campuses. The boarding fee is KES 8,000 per month, which covers both food and accommodation. For short courses of 5 days or one week, boarding is available at KES 4,000. Boarding students should carry personal effects including blankets, bed sheets, toiletries, plates, a cup and a spoon.
Course durations vary by department and level. Short courses can be as brief as 1 week (e.g. Cake Decoration or Sauce Making), while most standard courses run for 1 to 3 months. Longer programmes such as Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Health Care Assistant and Fashion Design & Styling can run for 6 to 9 months. You can check the exact duration for any course on our website or contact our admissions team.
We offer flexible payment arrangements to make our courses accessible to everyone. Please speak to our Finance Office or admissions team at either campus to discuss a payment plan that works for your situation. Fees can be paid via M-Pesa Paybill 198143 (account name: your two names) or directly to our Equity Bank account (Account Name: Sensei College, Account No: 0310260756005).
While we do not guarantee employment or attachments, we do everything we can to support our graduates. Every graduate receives a certificate and a recommendation letter to assist with job applications. When we are made aware of companies hiring in our graduates' fields, we recommend suitable students for interviews. Many of our graduates also go on to start their own businesses with the practical skills they gain here.
Absolutely. Many of our departments offer specialisation and premium-level courses designed for students who already hold a basic certificate in their field either from Sensei or another institution. For example, Motor Vehicle Mechanics alumni can enroll directly into specialisations such as Diagnostics & Electronics or Vehicle Air Conditioning. Contact us to discuss your background and we'll guide you to the right level.
Yes. We work with organisations, companies and NGOs that need to upskill their staff. Defensive Driving training, Plant Equipment Servicing, First Aid and Safety, and several other courses can be arranged for groups. Reach out to us directly to discuss customised corporate training packages.
You will need 2 photocopies of your National ID and 4 passport-sized photos. Students joining driving or plant operator courses that require a driving licence should also bring a copy of their licence. Boarding students should arrive with their personal effects. That's it — no academic transcripts, no lengthy forms.
